Overview

Doc’s Engineering Works Limited (DEW) was established in 1986. Its main business at that time was fabrication and welding mainly for the domestic market. Since then DEW has diversified into basically two major areas of business, with specialized areas of Contracting Services:

Doc’s Engineering Works Limited

Doc’s Engineering Works Limited started its operations as a small metal fabrication Company that supplied mainly the demands of the local market with respect to burglar proofing, fencing and wrought iron works.  Soon after starting operations and meeting the demands of the local market, the Organization then ventured into Manufacturing operations. 

With the acquisition of new machinery and with the concept of powder coating the manufactured products, Doc’s Engineering Works Limited began the manufacture of point of sales display units, hand baskets and trolleys.  This led to further expansion with the award of the Consolidated Appliances Limited contract to manufacture stove grids and shelving.  With this new concept of powder coating and machinery, we were able to also manufacture general-purpose chairs.

The concept of powder coating our products was introduced as a means of a lifetime warranty and durability to withstand hazards as against painting.

With the expansion in the Point Lisas Industrial Estate, Doc’s Engineering Works Limited saw the need to supply contract labour to the Organizations in the Estate and ventured out into this area.  With this venture the Organization was able to secure a permanent agreement for Contract labour with Caribbean Ispat Limited.  At one point in time Doc’s Engineering Works Limited was the largest Contractor at Caribbean Ispat Limited.  After much success in this area we were able to secure contracts with Hydro Agri Trinidad Limited, PCS Nitrogen, T&TEC to name a few.

Doc’s Engineering Works (1992) Limited

With the much-increased Construction in the Industry, Doc’s Engineering Works (1992) Limited was incorporated in 1992 to service this industry and started its full operations in 1996.  Its main focus then was to supply heavy equipment rentals and haulage of aggregate.  In order to realize this vision, the Company went on to acquire heavy equipment such as hydraulic track cranes, over loaders, tractors, escavators, backhoes, tipping trailers, dump trucks, flatbed and lowboy trailers.  This equipment was rented mainly to the various organizations in the Point Lisas Industrial Estate. 

This organization has grown tremendously in this area with the acquisition of transport contracts from various organizations not located in the Point Lisas Industrial Estate.

Doc’s Homes Limited

Doc’s Homes Limited was incorporated in 2001 to meet the demands of the low income housing needs of the fast growing population of Trinidad and Tobago.  Doc’s Homes Limited is committed to provide the comfort of modern living with all amenities.

Energy Management Control Company Limited

Energy Management Control Company Limited (EMC²) was incorporated in June 1993. It is the member of the Doc’s Engineering Group of Companies, which specializes in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering.

EMC was established to meet the increasing demand and specialized needs in the area of Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering.

Doc’s Engineering Works Limited manufactures and distributes various types of wire products mainly point of sales display stands, wire racks, supermarket trolleys and baskets.  These wire products after preparation is acid washed then powder coated with color selection to a durable finish to meet client’s specifications.  Some of our major clients include Consolidated Appliances Limited, K.C. Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering

Energy Management Control Company Limited was established to meet the increasing demand and specialized needs with respect to Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering.  Through our International alliance we provide a wide range of Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering services:

  Panels can be custom built to meet your specifications.  These panel types have been tested at CPRI for short circuits withstand capacity as per IS8623 (Part I & II).  These panels are of metal clad types, totally enclosed, rigid, floor/well mounted air insulated and suitable for indoor or outdoor locations.  They are designed for high ambient temperatures and high humidity tropical atmospheric conditions.
